| For investigating some of the factors influencing the capacitance of a condenser. Comprises two metal discs, each 100 mm diameter with variable separation, supported on instulating pillars and provided with insulating handles on the ends of the adjustment slide rods. Two 4 mm sockets in the end of adjustment rods for connection to electroscope and earth. Vertical sockets to carry a pair of suspended cork balls. Supplied with a square glass or acrylic plate 150 x 150 x 3 mm which mounts in the vertical slot in the central support pillar between the two discs and may be easily replaced by plate of some other material to show the effect of different dielectrics. The whole is mounted on a polished wooden base. Overall dimensions 210 x 150 x 200 mm high. |
