Description : This is a very simple and efficient form of the apparatus
which requires no rubber connections and only small
amount of mercury.
The apparatus consist of a glass J- shape tube mounted on a
wooden stand approx. 850 mm high, fitted on wooden base
with rubber feet. Open long limb of glass tube 775 x 8 mm
bore and closed limb 390 x 1 mm bore. A wooden scale
graduated 0 at lower end and to 80 cm at the top is fitted to
the stand. A loose fiting glass plunger is pushed into the
open limb to adjust the height of mercury.
Supplied without mercury.
